The order of this lab is freeze-thaw DNA extraction, faux PCR, gel electrophoresis, extraction of DNA from gel, online sequence analysis.
The story: Each group gets a different unknown bacteria culture. The results of the sequence analysis will lead them to a phylogenetic group that has some unique ability. Diversity is demonstrated to be dependent on genotype. Who you are is determined by genetic sequences. Who you are also includes where you can live and what niche you can fill in the environment.
